Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 14, 2005): The Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture has been congratulated for its vision and strategy of inclusion in charting the future of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
Approximately 50 persons representing various committees, volunteers and other stakeholders attended a two-day retreat organized to increase efficiency and maximize the potential of the Music Festival.
One participant, Cosbert Manchester noted that the retreat was productive. I think that these two-days have been very productive and important to the future of the St. Kitts Music Festival, he said. Weve covered quite a lot of information and looked at ways of improving the festival by looking at the infrastructural elements that have to be put in place or improved upon.
He added that such a session was necessary and described it as long overdue when considering the growth of similar Music Festivals throughout the region.
Magistrate Claudette Jenkins assists in legal matters for the festival. She echoed similar sentiments to that of Mr. Manchester. I think it was quite useful, she stressed. We now have some ideas about how to go forward and make the festival as successful as we hope it to be.
The magistrate explained that the two-day brainstorming session provided some insights on the particulars that must be considered in order to strengthen contracts.
The retreat was facilitated by Senator Sandra Husbands of Business Development Services Incorporated in Barbados and was held at the Bird Rock Beach Hotel.
