BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Reports received by this media house of an alleged shooting incident believed to have taken place somewhere in the Irishtown area on Saturday night appears to be false.
On Saturday evening, SKNVibes received reports of a shooting incident in Prickley Pear Alley, Irishtown. When contacted by this media house, Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry indicated that the police had also received reports of a shooting incident in that area.
Throughout the evening information about the alleged incident was quite sketchy, but a further conversation with Inspector Henry revealed that the reports may have been false.
Despite information received by SKNVibes during its investigations, Inspector Henry told this media house yesterday that police investigations concluded the reports were bogus.
He explained that police responded to the report and questioned persons in the surrounding area where the alleged shooting was said to have taken place and they indicated that they heard no gunshots. ~~Adz:Right~~
He said the police also visited the Joseph N. France General Hospital to inquire if anyone was there that evening seeking treatment for gunshot wounds and found there was none. “…so we deem the report to be false,” Henry said.
