Six charged for separate offences; Basseterre juvenile jailed

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FIVE men and one woman are facing charges for offences they allegedly committed over the past week, and a juvenile was jailed for breaking his curfew.

     

    A press release issued today (July 23) by the Police Press and Public Relations Office states that Eric Halliday of Tabernacle Village, Dion Liburd of Lime Kiln and Devin ‘Jigga’ Rouse of Church Ground, St. Paul’s Village are on separate charges, while Nakita Thibou, Kenny Claxton and Kito Chapman, all of Bath Village, Nevis have been charged with a drug-related offence.

     

    Halliday was charged with burglary after he was found with house-breaking implements on Thursday (July 19), while Liburd was charged with malicious damage committed on Saturday (July 21) and Rouse was charged for assaulting a police officer while in the execution of his duty on Tuesday (July 17).

     

    The trio, Thibou, Claxton and Chapman, were charged with possession of cannabis which was allegedly found in their possession on Friday (July 20).

     

    And in the Magistrate’s Court, a juvenile of Bay Road, Basseterre was sentenced to two months imprisonment for breaking his curfew, while Kevin Millard of Upper Cayon was convicted for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

     

    The offences were committed on Sunday, January 15, 2012 and he was fined EC$1 800 to be paid in three months. If in default, he will have to serve four months at Her Majesty’s Prison.
