BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CALYPSO Queen, Kibiane Willitte has put her talents to great use with the recent release of a single out of London in honour of the St. Kitts and Nevis athletes at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The single is called ‘Wave Your Flags’ and was written as a tribute to the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Team and to encourage persons to rally behind them.
SKNVibes received the single today (July 26); it has a smooth musical groovy soca beat to it and celebrates who we are as a people.
Willett, who is also in London, will perform the song at the Olympic Welcome Reception hosted by The High Commission for St. Kitts and Nevis on Saturday, July 28.
“This is a versatile, energetic and passionate piece showcasing an appreciation for our people. It is a fresh new sound that compels you to dance and wave as proud Kittitians and Nevisians,” said the release.
With 17 years of Calypso experience and five crowns from various local competitions, Queen Kibi continues to promote St. Kitts-Nevis through her music.
Seven athletes from the Federation are presently in London for the Olympic Games and are hoping to make their birthplace proud as they did last year at the World Championships in Daegu and at other succeeding events.
