BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 12TH 2008 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has told Cabinet colleagues he would continue to seek the advice of  the Hon. Dwyer Astaphan on matters that are of critical importance to the nation’s progress.

Mr. Astaphan formally resigned at the end of August as Minister of National Security, Immigration and Labour, but remains a Labour Party Parliamentarian in the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.

At Monday’s first Cabinet Meeting since the re-assignment of portfolios, Prime Minister Douglas reiterated the relationships among the newly adjusted Cabinet portfolios and expressed confidence in the view that each member of the Cabinet was given the opportunity to play to his strengths, having regard to the subject matters now under his charge.

Prime Minister Douglas, reflecting on his address to the nation on August 08, again expressed his gratitude for the service of former Minister, the Hon. Dwyer Astaphan, in Cabinet and to the people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.  ~~Adz:Right~~
