    POLICE/COURT ROUND UP

    ~~Adz:Right~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – OVER the past several days, some 13 persons were arrested and charged with various offences and are scheduled to make an appearance before the court shortly.

     

    Evanson Smith of Hamilton, Nevis was on Friday arrested and charged with “indecent assault”.

     

    Kaleen Fraites and Anthony Williams of Upper Fiennes Avenue were arrested and jointly charged with one count of “robbery”. The offence, according to police, was committed on July 1, 2008.

     

    The Alley, Sandy Point resident Vernon Parris was arrested and charged with one count each of “wounding” and “larceny”, offences which were committed on August 7, 2008.  Another resident of The Alley in Sandy Point, Terrick Lewis, was arrested and charged with an August 7, 2008 offence of “larceny”.

     

    “Making use of indecent language”, “obstruction” and “battery” were the charges brought against Adrian Springette of Bath Village. According to the police, the offences were committed on August 8, 2008.

     

    On Sunday, Joel Fitzroy of Nevis was charged with the offence of “being armed with an offensive weapon”, which was committed on August 8, 2008.

     

    Two Bath Village, Nevis residents, Akeon Claxton and Dexroy Herbert were charged with the offences of “being armed with an offensive weapon” and “disorderly conduct by fighting”.

     

    An August 9, 2008 incidence of “assault” is the offence for which Joseph Alfred King of Old Road was arrested and charged, while Asim Parris of Stoney Grove, Nevis was charged for a wounding offence.

     

    Evan Daniel of Parsons Village was arrested and charged with “obstruction” and Douglas Anniel of Newtown was arrested and charged with “driving without a valid and unexpired license” and “driving without insurance”.  These incidents are not related.

     

    Tijomah Jones of St. Pauls Village was arrested after police conducted stop and search operations in the Basseterre area and found a quantity of marijuana on his person.

     

    OPERATION

     

    “Operations were also conducted in the La Valle Mountain area and a total of 200 marijuana plants were found growing in a cane field. The plants, which ranged in height from seedlings to four feet, were uprooted and taken into custody. No one was arrested for the find,” a police press release informs.
