Kittitian WMM Model chosen to grace the cover of African magazine!

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, August 1st 2012 - Winnielle Model Management continues to connect with Africa! Winnielle Model Management model Ms Tesheira Jacinthia Foster has been chosen as the first Kittitian model to grace the cover of one of Africa’s glamorous fashion and lifestyle magazines.

     


    “Connect Africa” has been a mission of Ms Winnielle Periera, Chief Executive Officer of one of St. Kitts’ most prestigious model development and management movement ’. With the rebirth of Winnielle Model Management (WMM International) just over one year ago Ms. Pereira envisioned collaborations with Africa’s fashion elite.

     


    Her first step to this occurred just last December when she journeyed to Nigeria, Africa where Ms Lexy Brookes of VIP CONNECTED secured a booking for her to work with one of Togo’s Top dance choreographers to train 29 delegates in one of the most prestigious pageants “Ecowas Peace Pageant ”.

     


    Ms Pereira... after returning to St Kitts continued to work towards opening the door for her models into the African fashion industry.  Through a selection process, Zen Magazines CEO Arinze Nwokolo of  one of Africa’s most elite fashion and lifestyle magazines chose sixteen year old Teshiera Foster (Jacynthia)  to grace the cover. 

     


    Similarly eighteen year old Angelique Bailey (Kezia) was also chosen to be featured as a “New Face Model”.  Both models were 2011 graduates from WMM' s 1st annual Model Empowerment Course. 

     


    “This is a tremendous opportunity for these models”, said CEO Ms Pereira. These features will expose not only our models but the movement itself to professionals of the African fashion industry in a way that has not been done before in this federation. The WMM Empowerment Team will be hosting the editorial photo-shoot for both models and will secure designer fashions for the layouts. Kittitian Designer Shannen Azuredee of poetic rhythm will be creating sketches to present to Ms Winnielle and will hereby be providing 2 of the chosen creations for each model for their shoot which they will then own compliments the designer... Designers of Fashion or Jewelry can submit their Lookbooks to us immediately to be considered for gaining this great exposure of their works.

     


    Since its rebirth WMM has conducted two Empowerment Courses where twenty one students ranging in age from eleven to twenty-seven have undergone twelve and ten week training where they have been trained in aspects of the modeling industry that is not ordinarily available on island in addition to several life skills that encouraged the young women to build successful futures for themselves. Currently the movement has six exclusively signed models. Graduation of the 2012 group that has just concluded training is yet to be set. This will be hosted at Bary's Grill in Bird Rock this year for the second time.

     


    Ms. Pereira has said, “We are taking it step by step ensuring that we build a strong foundation. We are exposing our movement and models Regionally and Internationally..... Nothing happens

     

    overnight, but I know exactly what needs to be done and it will be done with the collective experiences and skills that we together have accessed through our diverse team." Ms Pereira holds true to her movements rebirthed goal of “Empowering the youth through fashion and modeling. She has said, “I am truly grateful for all the love.. support and encouragement I have received locally, regionally and internationally for the works of myself and also my team collectively....forward ever we move on.. with Jah Guidance and Protection”.
