~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man from Sandy Point has been formally charged with the August 11, 2008 murder of 23-year-old Delvis Romney of Parsons Village.

Romney was shot at about 12:05 on Monday morning while attending a party at a bar in Lynches. He was transported by a private vehicle to the Pogson Hospital, Sandy Point from where an Emergency Medical Services Unit took him to the Joseph N. France General Hospital.  It was there that he was pronounced dead.

Elroy Williams, a.k.a. Stanney, of Crab Hill, Sandy Point and four others were taken into police custody on the day of the incident and arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to a police press release, Williams was earlier today officially charged with Romney’s murder, and the four others were “interviewed and discharged”.

The release also informed that Williams was additionally charged with the “wounding” of Olson Moses of Parsons Village. SKNVibes understands that both charges resulted from the said incident.

Williams is scheduled to appear in court shortly to answer to his charges.

Romney’s murder came at a time when the Federation was an approximate one month into its recovery from the previous murder. His death marks the 14th homicide to have occurred in the Federation for the year; two of which were committed in Nevis and 12 in St. Kitts.
