Stranded passengers fly out of Nevis

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – SOME 20 passengers who were last night and earlier today stranded at the Vance Amory International Airport in Nevis have been flown out of the island to their respective destinations.

Reports reaching SKNVibes this morning stated that 20 passengers, who were booked on Winair flights and destined for various parts of the world, were left stranded at the airport in Nevis due to the cancellation of scheduled flights.

Some passengers had complained that staff members of the airline working at the Vance Amory International Airport were not providing them adequate feedback. However, when contacted, a Winair official in Nevis told this media house that the flight was cancelled due to bad weather.

This information was confirmed by a senior official at the airline’s Headquarters in St. Maarten, who said, “All flights were cancelled because of the bad weather.” But she referred this media house to the Nevis Agency when questioned on the resumption of flights and the welfare of the stranded passengers.     ~~Adz:Right~~

SKNVibes contacted the General Manager of TDC Group of Companies, Nevis Division, Ernie France, who also confirmed the cancellation of flights but informed that all the passengers were winged out of the island earlier today.

France stated that as early as this morning some of the passengers had boarded a number of flights that were operating on their normal scheduled run.

He further stated that the remaining passengers were taken off the island by a Highlander aircraft, which had made two trips to Nevis specifically for that purpose.
