Lone partly-masked gunman robs TDC's Drinks Depot in Nevis

By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AT approximately 12:30 p.m. today (August 3), a lone partly-masked gunman robbed the TDC Drinks Depot in Nevis of an undisclosed sum of money.

Information reaching this publication states that the gunman entered the Drinks Depot through a service door at the back of the building after scaling the fence.

Speaking with one of TDC's Executive Directors, Earnie France, he confirmed the robbery stating that the man had confronted the cashier at gunpoint and demanded all of the money in their vault.

He said that the cashier complied, went to the vault and gave the bandit the money with which he made good his escape.

France assured that the money was not much and that he did not ask for the money that was in the cash register.

SKNVibes understands that the gunman had used a cloth-like material with two holes to cover the eye area of his face.

No one was reported injured but the cashier confronted was traumatised and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital for observation.

Public Information Officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Inspector Lyndon David, when contacted some hours after the incident, said that he had no information on the matter.

"I can only confirm that the robbery did happen and that investigations into this incident are ongoing. At this time I have no information on the robbery."
