~~Adz:Left~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A post mortem performed on the remains of the most recent murder victim revealed that he died as a result of a gunshot injury and resulting complications.

The August 18, 2008 police press release informs that Barbadian Pathologist Stephen Jones performed an autopsy on the remains of 23-year-old Delvis Romney on Saturday, August 16 and reported that he died of gunshot injury to the chest with haemorrhage and shock.

Romney of Parsons Village was shot on Monday, August 11, 2008 while attending a party held at a bar in Lynches. According to information reaching this media house, at about 12:05 on that fateful morning Romney was approached by a loan gunman and shot in the chest.

He was rushed to the Pogson Hospital in Sandy Point via a public vehicle and from there transported to the Joseph N. France (JNF) General Hospital by Emergency Medical Unit. He later succumbed to his injuries at that medical institution.

Elroy ‘Stanny’ Williams of Crab Hill, Sandy Point has since been arrested and charged with the murder of Romney. He has also been charged with one count of wounding, which police claim was perpetrated against another individual. Both charges, according to police, resulted from the same incident.

Romney was the Federation’s 14th murder victim for the year.
