Duff's Bottom Drainage Solution Project Resumes

~~Adz:Left~~Roadtown, Tortola: Tuesday, August 19 – Work resumed yesterday in Duff’s Bottom to install drainage structures between the New Life Baptist Church and Tonic’s Bar.

The project which is expected to last eight weeks will include the construction of an irish drain as well as curb and slipper drains.  The scope of work will also include the placement of culverts and construction of manholes.

The Ministry of Communications and Works remains committed to ensuring that drainage structures throughout the Territory are improved so that all residents can feel a sense of security especially now that we are into the Atlantic Hurricane Season.

To facilitate the work, motorists are advised that all vehicular traffic travelling west bound on the Sir Francis Drake Highway between 9:00am and 5:30pm will be diverted at the Prospect Reef Roundabout to Slaney Hill which will be used as a one -way road.  Motorists travelling east bound on the Sir Francis Drake Highway will be allowed to pass freely.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to travel with caution in the area and to adhere to all traffic and road signs.

Proper drainage systems help to facilitate the efficient run-off of water, therefore adding longevity to the nation’s roads. The improvement of the drainage in Duff’s Bottom is in keeping with Government’s commitment to modernise and expand the road network throughout the Territory.
