BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A juvenile from Pond’s Extension is among five individuals charged with criminal offences ranging from wounding to carrying abroad an offensive weapon.

According to a press release from the Police Press and Public Information Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, the juvenile resides in Pond’s extension and he/she was formally charged for the offence of wounding, which was committed on Wednesday (Aug. 8).

It also states that Cardie Stapleton of Taylor’s Village was charged with building breaking with intent, committed at the General Post Office between July 26 and 27, 2012; while Solomon Morton of Lower Cayon was charged with assault and wounding, committed on June 27, 2012.

And Jahbal Henry of Upper Cayon was charged with carrying abroad offensive weapon (a knife), an offence he committed on Wednesday (Aug. 8); while Alvin Henry of River Ghaut, Cayon was charged with threatening behaviour, committed also on Wednesday (Aug. 8).

However, what has now become the norm in releases emanating from the police, details of persons arrested and charged are not being provided.

The details not forthcoming for most of these offences include where the crime was committed and against whom.

With the exception of details concerning juveniles, media practitioners are left in the proverbial wilderness and are unable to provide readers with pertinent information so as to guard against crime being committed within their community, such as building breaking.
