KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – August 20, 2008 – LeGrand Elebash has been named Chief Operating Officer, (COO), of Christophe Harbour Company, Ltd., the master developer of Christophe Harbour, St. Kitts. Christophe Harbour is a spectacular 2,500-acre residential-resort community set to debut on St. Kitts in 2011. As COO, Elebash is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations at Christophe Harbour, including construction, development, sales and administration.  He will be based on St. Kitts.

“LeGrand is a strong leader and brings a wealth of experience to Christophe Harbour,” says Buddy Darby, chairman and CEO of Kiawah Development Partners (KDP). The company, with HT St. Kitts Holdings, is the manager of the master developer of Christophe Harbour. “He shares our vision for this incomparable resort, which will offer unparalleled luxury, five-star service and authentic Caribbean flavor to residents, hotel guests and other visitors.  LeGrand will also lead Christophe Harbour’s local efforts and become an integral part of the St. Kitts community.”

Elebash most recently conducted his own firm, Elebash Properties, LLC, specializing in real estate consulting and project equity financing with clients in Charleston, North Augusta, S.C. and Atlanta, Ga.  For three years prior, he was chief operating officer of I’On Group, LLC in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., where he managed a rapidly expanding real estate development company with projects in Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, Summerville, S.C., and Cashiers, N.C.  While there, he led the acquisition and financing efforts to add several major projects to the company’s portfolio.  Prior to that, Elebash served as executive vice president for Rivers Enterprises, Inc. in Charleston, a real estate investment and development company with operations in Charleston and Cashiers.  ~~Adz:Right~~

An F/A-18 Pilot for the United States Marine Corps from 1990 – 1999, Elebash held numerous management positions throughout his squadron career including logistics, safety, aircraft maintenance, and air combat tactics instruction. This training provided an excellent foundation of discipline and leadership, which proved instrumental in earning an MBA from Harvard University in 2001, where he was president of his section.  Elebash also holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Yale University.

A native of Charleston and Kiawah, Elebash has come full circle. He earned his very first paycheck from the former Kiawah Island Company, where as a teenager he worked on the island’s first golf course and as a lifeguard.  Real estate is apparently in his blood – Elebash’s father sold Kiawah real estate in the 1970s.

Elebash is an involved member of his community and has served as a board member of Spoleto Festival USA and Operation Home.  He is also an advisory board member for Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and a vestry member of the Church of Holy Cross on Sullivan’s Island.  In addition, he volunteers for Water Missions International.

“With St. Kitts’ friendly, authentic Caribbean flavor; the distinct, pristine setting offered on the southeastern peninsula; and the exceptional partners involved in this project, Christophe Harbour promises an experience unlike any other,” says Elebash.  “I look forward to the challenge of bringing it to fruition along with the talented Christophe Harbour team.”

Kiawah Development Partners (KDP) brings 20 years of internationally recognized experience to the design and development of Christophe Harbour.  The company developed Kiawah Island in South Carolina, and Doonbeg Golf Club in Ireland, both of which are widely recognized for their high development standards.  KDP brings the same award-winning focus on environmental preservation, careful design, five-star service, and operations to Christophe Harbour.
