    17-year-old shot outside movie theatre

     


    ~~Adz:Left~~St. Thomas, USVI- A teenage boy was reportedly shot late Saturday evening at Market Square East as he exited a movie theater shortly after 11 p.m.

     

    The identity of the17-year-old was withheld by police as he is considered a juvenile. A police spokesperson said that the young man was shot in his left shoulder after several shots were discharged. Although no other injuries were reported, vehicles parked in the vicinity had also been struck by bullets.

     

    The victim was treated at Schneider Hospital before being released to the custody of his parent(s). Police officials indicated that the injured youth claimed he did not catch sight of the gunman or gunmen who had opened fire on him.

     

    It was not said what if any reprimand would be issued considering under the territory’s statutes, a 10 p.m. curfew exists for persons under 18 years of age.

     

    So far there have been no reported arrests made in the case as police continue to investigate.
