Police hunt escaped prisoner

PRISON ESCAPEE: Alistair ’Jabal’ Isaac

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - MEMBERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force are currently searching for 31-year-old Alistair 'Jabal' Isaac of Neverson Street, Newton who had escaped from lawful custody.

     

    Information reaching this publication, which was confirmed by Police Press and Public Information Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, states that yesterday afternoon (August 16) Isaac was removed from Her Majesty's Prison to an unknown destination from where he escaped.

     

    Isaac was on remand at the prison after he was charged with armed robbery which he allegedly committed in Nevis on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

     

    He was also charged in January 2012 for allegedly robbing the Star Chinese Restaurant on West Square Street, Basseterre on Sunday, January 22.

     

    The former Cotton Ground resident was also charged and convicted on a number of occasions dating back to 2007. The offences were possession of cannabis, larceny, possession of controlled drugs, and robbery in both St. Kitts and Nevis.

     

    Members of the public are being asked to be on the alert to any possible sightings of the escaped prisoner and to notify the police immediately at 465-2241 or the nearest police station.
