By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have issued an arrest warrant for Alistair ‘Jabal’ Isaac of Neverson Street, Newtown who escaped from custody last Thursday (Aug. 16) while under guard at the JNF Hospital.

The 31-year-old former Cotton Ground, Nevis resident was remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison for armed robbery which he allegedly committed on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

According to information reaching this publication, on the day in question, an officer of Her Majesty’s Prison had escorted Isaac to the hospital where he was expected to have some part of his anatomy x-rayed.

However, while there, Isaac escaped and the police were alerted.

A press release issued yesterday afternoon (Aug. 20) by the Police Press and Public Relations Office indicated that the law enforcement body is seeking the public’s assistance in finding the escaped prisoner.

He is dark in complexion, 5’10”-5’11” in height with dark brown eyes and sporting shoulder-length dreadlocks.

The police are warning that “anyone who harbours or helps him in any way to evade the police commits an offence and will be arrested and charged for the offence. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the CID at 465 2241 ext. 220”.

This is not the first time that Isaac has had brushes with the law.

On Monday, November 13, 2007, Isaac appeared at the Charlestown Magistrate’s Court where he was convicted for possession of cannabis and larceny. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment with hard labour for the former offence and also a six-month jail term with hard labour for the latter.

He was also charged earlier this year for robbing the Star Chinese Restaurant on West Square Street, Basseterre on Sunday, January 22.

It is believed that while running away from the scene of the robbery, he accidentally shot himself in the leg and was arrested after seeking treatment at the JNF Hospital.
