Local Organisations Benefit fromDonations by Carnival Cruise Linesand DelisleWalwyn& Co. Ltd.

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, August 27th 2012 - As part of an ongoing program to provide support to its port-of-call communities, Carnival Cruise Lines, through the assistance of its local agent DelisleWalwyn& Co. Ltd., has donated 108used mattresses to several St. Kitts-based agencies and organisations, including the Joseph N France General Hospital, St Christopher Children’s Home, The Cardin Home, and the Department of Social and Community Development. The mattresses were from the 2,758-passsenger Carnival Victory, which makes weekly visits to St. Kitts as part of its seven-day schedule from San Juan.

     

    The donation was made possible through the generosity of Carnival Cruise Lines in its continued effort to give back to and support the communities that so warmly welcome its ships and support its business.All services and costs related to the storage and delivery of the mattresses were donated by DelisleWalwyn& Co. Ltd., one of the leading ship agents and cruise industry specialists in the Federation.

     

    The representatives of the various recipient organisations expressed their appreciation on behalf of the people and communities they serve. MsAzilla Clarke, Director of Social and Community Development, Government of St Kitts and Nevis thanked Carnival Cruise Lines and DelisleWalwyn& Co. Ltd. for thekinddonations, which she indicated,would be put to good use by the various organisations and individuals who receive support and assistance from the Department of Social and Community Development.

     

    Newly appointed Business Development Manager at DelisleWalwyn& Co. Ltd., Mrs. Youlouca Armony-Browne, presented the donation on behalf of Carnival Cruise Lines and Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. and underscored their continued commitment to social and community development in St Kitts and Nevis. She also highlighted the importance of the partnerships with cruise lines such as Carnival Cruise Lines, which are geared toward affordingcruise passengers the opportunity to experience the high quality tourism product that St. Kitts and Nevis has to offer while advancing the development of a sustainable cruise tourism industry in the Federation.
