BASSETERRE ST. Kitts, August 29th, 2012  -  The Horsford’s Ghetto Roots has once again booked a spot in the finals of the SKABA league. The team recorded their second straight win in the final four playoff series versus the Regular Season Champions and Number 1 seeded team the Fig Tree Dirt Revellers.

The Newtown based Ghetto Roots pulled off the  impressive victory to sweep the Revellers on Sunday evening at Basketball City

The match-up was keenly contested for the first half with each team having multiple periods leading the other. Fig Tree was kept in the game with the steady play of Devin “Jigga” Warner while Berlie Francis  did the same for Ghetto Roots.  The first half ended with Ghetto Roots up 43-40.

After a spirited half time motivational speech by Coach Wallis Wilkin the Roots started the 3rd quarter on fire behind the exciting play of Rymal “Bally” Browne and Levi “By-By” Fyfield. Both guards proved too much for the Fig Tree duo of George “Goolay” Gaton  and Lyle “Dixie” Duggins. By the end of the 3rd quarter Ghetto Roots held a double figure lead on the regular season leaders.

The 4th quarter was all Ghetto Roots as Browne and Fyfeild continued their talent display with a number of exciting spin moves and 3 point shots which wowed the massive crowd at Basketball City.

The Game ended with the Horsfords Ghetto Roots recording a very impressive 85-71 victory to sweep the series and book their spot in the finals. They will now await the winner of the Exodus and Ghaut Bucs series which is now at 1-1 with the deciding game on Thursday. Game 1 of the SKABA finals tips off on Sunday at Basketball City.
