New Deputy Commissioner of Police Bradley Siddell sworn in

    BRADES, Montserrat, August 28th 2012 – Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police Bradley Siddell became Montserrat’s newest Deputy Commissioner of Police on Monday, August 27, 2012.

     

    Commissioner of Police Steve Foster welcomed Siddell to the Royal Montserrat Police Service and informed colleagues across the government that he would be making personal introductions in the days and weeks ahead.

     

    The new deputy commissioner comes to Montserrat with 30 years of law enforcement and intelligence experience, skilled in multiple police and executive management disciplines officer and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Liverpool, England. His decorations include the Commanding Officer’s Commendation, NATO Kosovo Campaign Medal, Alberta Centennial Medal, Canadian Peacekeeping Medal, RCMP Long Service Medal, FBI Commendation, Commanding Officer's Certificate of Appreciation and the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal for career accomplishments.

     

    Deputy Commissioner Siddell shared the following statement about his vision for working on Montserrat.

     

    “To His Excellency Governor Davis, Honourable Premier Meade, Government dignitaries, Commissioner Foster, my fellow Royal Montserrat Police Service officers & staff, and citizens of Montserrat; I extend a heartfelt appreciation for how my family and I have been overwhelmed by the hospitality of Montserrat.  It is a great honour to be invited to serve your nation as the Deputy Commissioner of your police service.  I accept this appointment humbly and shall reciprocate the privilege by serving you with tenacity.
     
    “My public declaration to you is threefold. First, I will maintain momentum throughout my tenure to ensure that the confidence in the RMPS is maintained by delivering the highest policing standards. Second, I shall pour into every member of the Service a full measure of knowledge and experience to ensure their continued personnel development. And third, that I will consider the needs of the citizens and residents of Montserrat as a high priority influence towards the creation of optimized policing models.

     

    “Over the next several weeks my time shall be monopolized by learning all I can about the government, police service, and communities.  Expect to see me everywhere, as I intend to absorb as much as possible about the landscape and people of Montserrat. Please do not hesitate to greet me as my family and I explore your remarkable heritage. After all, I am at your service….”
