Advice for Hensley Daniel

By: Ursula Huggins-Whitney

It would be interesting to know who advised – or pushed - Hensley Daniel to run again for the St. John seat after being defeated according to both the High and the Appellate Court. Even though he resigned, which means he accepts both court's judgment that the election results were fraudulent, he intends to contest the seat again.

I believe he is making a big mistake and will be defeated. The NRP has lost whatever credibility it once had. I have always believed at heart Mr. Daniel is a decent person, and to persist in this quest for the sake of the NRP is misguided.

He is quoted in SKN Vibes as saying “we are rallying the troops” and “Cox is the battle ground”. Bring it on is the answer most Nevisians I have spoken with would respond. I would not be surprised if there were many Nevisians at the Cox polling station to make certain the “Box from Cox” is delivered on time and the results are accurate.

Since the Rev Benjamin with his “special” God will not be involved with the counting, I trust the results will be delivered on time and be accurate.

I believe Mr. Daniel ought to graciously continue the course of action he began by reigning and get on with a life free of politics. I am certain his wife would be very pleased with this decision.
