ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, August 21st, 2012   – The Report on the Job Analysis Project, which was carried out by KPMG to provide professional services for the conduct of a job analysis of the public service has been submitted to the Department of Human Resources.

Acting Director of the Department of Human Resources, Mrs. Michelle Donovan Stevens, speaking to the Department of Information and Public Relations expressed her gratitude to public officers for their commitment and contribution to the project, adding without their participation the project would not have been completed.

“KPMG has met all the core components of the project, which included reviewing role profiles and organisational charts, providing recommendations for efficiency and technological improvements across the public service, making specific departmental recommendations and classifying hazardous roles,” Mrs. Donovan Stevens added.

She shared, “The Job Analysis Implementation Team has been working diligently over the past few months to review KPMG’s recommendations and has recently completed a detailed report. The team has also provided significant input and further recommendations to support the Job Analysis Project by making additional recommendations for service-wide improvements to increase productivity and efficiency within the Public Service. The details of the Implementation team’s report will be submitted to Cabinet this month.

The Job Analysis Project began in August of 2011. It included six phases: planning, investigation, analysis, documentation, strategic review and recommendation. The project took eight months to be completed and involved the active involvement of public officers.

The project was carried out to critically review the current roles and structures and identify where efficiencies can be achieved, while ensuring relevancy, accuracy and consistency is applied in determining appropriate job descriptions.
