Prickly Pear Alley female charged with malicious damage

    Two fined EC$3 450 for traffic offences

     

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO residents of Prickly Pear Alley, including a female, were recently charged for separate offences, while two others appeared at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court and were convicted and fined for violation of traffic offences.

     

    According to a release from the Police Public Relations Office, the two Prickly Pear Alley residents are Carmesha Nisbett and Enslie Lewis.

     

    Nisbett was charged with malicious damage and Lewis was charged with larceny and possession of cannabis. These offences were allegedly committed on Thursday, August 30, 2012.

     

    And at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court, Davin Liburd of New Road was convicted for driving without due care and attention on August 29, 2012 and was fined EC$750 to be paid in one month. Should Liburd fail to pay the fine within the stipulated time, he will have to serve a one-month sentence at Her Majesty’s Prison.

     

    Virgil Gumbs of St. Peter’s was convicted and fined a total of EC$2 700 for five offences, committed at College Street on May 30, 2011.

     

    Gumbs, for willfully obstructing a police officer while in the execution of his duty, was fine EC$1 500 to be paid in one month or be imprisoned for the same period; for parking in a no parking area and failing and failing to comply with traffic sign, he was fined EC$200 on each conviction and will have to serve two one-month terms of imprisonment it the fines are not paid within one month.

     

    He was also fined EC$800 for driving without due care and attention, and an equal amount for driving without insurance. These two fines are to be paid within one month or he will be incarcerated for two months.
