Four charged for illegal drugs in St. Kitts
CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – POLICE on Nevis are seeking the public’s assistance in the provision of information leading to the arrest and prosecution of a number of men who yesterday (Sept. 10) carried out an armed midday robbery on that island.
According to a press release from the Police Public Relations Office, officers at the Gingerland Police Station are investigating a robbery that took place at Rawlins Village at about noon yesterday.
“Initial investigations revealed that C&C Sales and Delivery truck drivers were approached by armed men who demanded money. No one was hurt and investigation is ongoing,” the release reads.
It also states that anyone with any information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact Gingerland Police Station at 469-3948 or the nearest police station.
And on St. Kitts, four men were charged with drugs possession, one for traffic offences and another was convicted and sentenced for indecent and insulting language.
Clement ‘Lala’ Williams of Lime Kiln was charged with possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply to another; offences the police say he committed in Lime Kiln on Friday (Sept. 7).
Police also proffered similar charges against Munroe Llewellyn Merrit of Cardin Avenue and Livingston Browne of Upper Monkey Hill, whom they claimed committed the offences on Friday, September 7 and 8 respectively.
Jevon Sutton of Durant Avenue was charged with possession of crack cocaine, committed on Saturday (Sept. 8) and Damian Nisbett of Stapleton Village was charged for driving a vehicle without insurance, driving without a valid and unexpired licence and driving an unlicenced vehicle on Friday (Sept. 7).
At the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court, Curtlyn Walters was convicted for indecent and insulting language and was sentenced to perform 70 hours of community service at the Sandy Point Police Station, which commenced on Friday, last.
