    Education Minister commends Outstanding Students

    Minister of Education Hon. Sam Condor

     

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – STUDENTS successfully completing the CAPE 2008 and CSEC 2008 examinations who returned best results in the Federation were given verbal accolades by Minister of Education Sam Terrence Condor for their outstanding performance.

     

    Minister Condor explained that the Ministry of Education is still awaiting word on who the 2008 State Scholar is, but made no hesitation in highlighting the achievements of those persons who performed exceptionally well.

     

    Akeem Michael Bacchus, Year One student at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) sat four Caribbean Advance Proficiency Examination (CAPE) “Unit 1” courses and attained all Grade One passes while Azard Algernon Gumbs and Kistel Annoly Hazel, Year Two students, both wrote examination for five courses (Units 1 and 2) and returned three Grade One passes.

     

    At the Charlestown Secondary School, Year One students, Sashia Godet and Michelle Slack both sat examinations for five units and returned three Grade One passes each while Agiel Brown, a Second Year student, sat examinations for five courses (Units 1 and 2) and returned all Grade 1 passes.  

     

    ~~Adz:Right~~ Condor listed the outstanding students sitting Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations from the Basseterre High School as being Calvin Duggins, who passed 11 subjects with nine distinctions; Mark Flemming, who passed 11 subjects including eight distinctions; and Xavienne-Roma Richardson, who passed 10 subjects inclusive of nine distinctions.

     

    Phylicia Warner of the Cayon High School passed 11 subjects with five distinctions; Joanne Flemming of the Charlestown Secondary School passed 11 subjects with nine distinctions; Earline Pemberton of the Gingerland Secondary School returned passes in 12 subjects including nine distinctions; Kadeem Caesar and Virecia Williams of the Sandy Point High School passed 11 subjects with six distinction and 10 subjects with seven distinctions respectively; Meguel Thomas of the Vechilds High School returned 11 passes with three distinctions; and Islaen Phillip and Kerry-Ann Pinard of the Washington Archibald High School, who both returned 10 subject passes with nine distinctions each.

     

    The Education Minister extended “heartfelt (and) sincere congratulations” to all the students and to “their parents and the dedicated college lecturers and administration, all of whom contributed to the outstanding success of the students and overall high pass in the examinations”.
