Community to get a further Update on new Hospital Project

Minister of Health and Social Development Honourable Dancia Penn, OBE, QC has confirmed that the Government’s second educational video documentary on that major infrastructure project is at an advanced production stage. 

The Minister’s confirmation followed last month’s territorial address by Premier Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal, OBE in which he updated the public on his administration’s first year in office.

During his update the Premier announced, among other things, that construction work continues to progress at a steady pace on the multi-million dollar New Peebles Hospital project, and that Government’s second video documentary update on that project will be released to the public via local television stations this month.

Speaking today via the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Minister of Health and Social Development said Government remains committed to keeping the public fully informed about its work. 

“The imminent completion and subsequent release of the ministry’s second video documentary on the New Peebles Hospital is consistent with our strong commitment,” she said. 

The Minister also confirmed that the programme will be aired later this month, as announced by the Honourable Premier.

The Minister said the precise broadcast times and dates for the second educational video documentary will soon be announced. The Ministry of Health and Social Development released its first video on the New Peebles Hospital in July this year.    ~~Adz:Left~~

In January 2007, the Government of the British Virgin Islands signed a $63.9 million contract with the company Mirsand-Carimex-Quantum for the construction of the New Peebles Hospital. Work on the project, which is being supervised by the Project Management Office of the Ministry, commenced in March 2007.
