Press Release

GEORGETOWN Grenada, September 18th, 2012 – In a statement issued today, regarding the Snell Hall Playing Field and Multi-Purpose Centre Project in the parish of St. Patrick, the acting Minister of Works, Sen. Glen Noel, assured the public that implementation of the said project is ongoing.

“Currently, arrangements are being made for the purchase of the parcel of land to be used for the project, while the Government of Grenada is in the process of completing necessary documentation with the donor Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” said Sen. Noel, who is also the Minister of Information & Mobilization.

“Already, the tendering process for the project has been completed and a contract has been awarded to a local construction firm,” continued Noel.

“The actual sod turning and physical launch of the project, which would involve local residents and community organizations, would commence in a matter of weeks on a date that would be mutually agreed upon by the Venezuelan Embassy and the Ministry of Works,” added Minister Noel.

The Ministry of Works is the implementing government agency for this project.
