Sandy Point juvenile convicted for house breaking…

~~Adz:Right~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A boy from Sandy Point was ordered by the court to pay in excess of $1 600 to a woman whose home he broke into.
The 14-year-old appeared before the District “B” Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 on a charge of house breaking and larceny. He was accused of breaking into the dwelling place of Linda Douglas of Sandy Point.
After conviction, the teen was ordered to repay $1 690 to Douglas, to be made in four monthly installments. However, a first payment of US$130 must be paid to Douglas within 14 days.
If the juvenile fails to repay the sum within the allotted amount of time, he will have to return to court where a custodial sentence would be imposed.
Meanwhile, another juvenile of the Old Road area appeared before the court on a charge of battery perpetrated against Tachi Samuel of Old Road. The juvenile was convicted and placed on a six-month bond and also on a 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew for a three-month period.
Police reported that Javil Warner of Old Road, who appeared before the court, was severely cautioned after convicted of riding a bicycle without a bell and without a light.
Middle Islander Rashiel Lewis James appeared before the court on charges of careless driving, driving without insurance and driving without a driver’s licence, and was convicted on all charges. He was fined $600 to be paid within two months or one month imprisonment and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for a six month period.
Having been convicted of possession of cannabis, Kevin Boone of Sandy Point was fined $400 which is to be paid within two months or he will have to serve a one-month custodial sentence.
ARREST
Eucal Richards of Pond Road is expected to appear before the court shortly as he was arrested and charged with one count of assault, which, according to police, was committed on September 1, 2008.
