Kingston, Jamaica, September 24th, 2012  --  With global trade of creative goods soaring pass the US$500 billion mark, Caribbean musicians and songwriters want to claim a piece of this earning through the efforts of C2W Music Limited that is now listed on the Jamaica Junior Stock Exchange.

Caribbean 2 World (C2W) Music entity is the Caribbean's first publicly-listed and traded Intellectual Property Company and is headed by CEO Ivan Berry.

The company accumulates its revenues from the management of intellectual property rights, live performances, album sales, and synchronization or adaption for use in video games, movies and advertisements.

C2W hosts their 7th songwriting camp at Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Jamaica. Musicians and Songwriters from the Craibbean and Los Angeles all worked together for 7 days to produce some great songs for Jennifer Hudson's upcoming album.

"This business model is one of the only sustainable models in the music industry. Bob Marley's family and so too the Elvis Presley family is living off this sustainable model" Berry informed, at C2W's first staging of a Jamaican Songwriting Camp at Rockhouse Hotel in Negril on Saturday, September 8.

Some of the best songwriters who have written for Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Madonna, Usher among other musicians converged on the island for a one-week songwriting camp in Negril following which, the songs are then registered, licensed and marketed globally to some of music's well-known entertainers, movie directors, television shows and advertisers.

Berry further added that the model used by C2W to generate sustainable income ensures the ownership of Intellectual Property which converts to earnings in foreign currency globally while ensuring that the creativity derived from the Caribbean, remains in the region.

"It was important for the public and shareholders in Jamaica to understand and to see first-hand what we really do and what the business model is about", he confirmed when ask about significance of the songwriting camp and what the company hopes to achieve.

"We have the company on the stock exchange and not everyone may understand how it works. We are developing songwriters in the same way a management company develops an artiste. So yes it is sustainable and accessible and it is the right thing to do for the exports of the creative industries in the Caribbean".

Shazelle singer/songwriter signed to C2W and Max Gousse, Senior VP of Island/DefJam Records, take a photo together while at the first C2W songwriting camp to be held in Negril, Jamaica.

Max Gousse, Senior Vice President of the internationally-renowned Isand/Def Jam Records label in Los Angeles expressed delight at the pool of musical talent in the Caribbean and added that business entities such as C2W Music Limited can add value in helping talent to yield the benefits of this music business.

Hosting a songwriting camp Gousse outlined means "that Caribbean talent gets the exposure to major label executives that they normally wouldn't get. It was through a four-week songwriting camp where Beyonce's B'Day album was written and that album produced the hit song Irreplaceable, which won a Grammy Award and sold 5 million units worldwide. So when I was invited to be apart of the camp I thought it would add a lot of value to what I am doing".

He noted too, that such initiative, "gave me the chance to see great songwriters, meet other musicians and possible recording artistes. In addition, Caribbean talents get to work with international songwriters who already have placements, which in effect increases the likelihood of local talent being apart of those project".

The 7th staging of C2W Music Songwriting Camp focused on preparing singles for the singer/actress Jennifer Hudson among other internationals artistes, the camp is expected to last until Friday, September 14, 2012.
