BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – INFORMATION reaching this publication indicates that the Senior Marine Pilot attached to the St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority’s (SCASPA) Marine Division - Captain Nigel Herbert - has passed away.

Herbert – who hails from and resided at Sandy Point – reportedly departed this life while he was at his home yesterday (Sept. 23) morning.

SKNVibes understands that the 44-year-old was discovered dead lying on a chair in the living room of the home. However, the cause of his death – while some are speculating – is yet unknown.

His body was subsequently removed by an undertaker.

Herbert served with SCASPA for many years and, as part of his responsibility, he performed thousands of berthing exercises of tourist and commercial vessels that visited the shores of St. Kitts.

Hearing of the incident, contact was made with SCASPA for a comment on the sad event and this publication was told that a press release would be issued shortly.

However, at the time of posting of this article the release was yet to be had.
