Geothermal Reservoir Expanded in Nevis

Charlestown, Nevis- Nevis 2, West Indies Power Nevis Ltd., second geothermal well encountered commercial heat temperatures at 2457 ft. (748.9m) expanding the geothermal reservoir discovered by the Nevis 1 geothermal well on June 2nd of this year. Kerry McDonald, CEO of West Indies Power Holdings B.V. said “With this discovery the geothermal resource on Nevis can produce well over 100MW.”

West Indies Power Nevis Ltd. will begin drilling the Nevis 3 geothermal well located 1.38 miles (2.2km) south of the Nevis 2 geothermal well. WIP believes this well will confirm that the Nevis geothermal reservoir exists over  a 2.53 miles (4.1km) long area and contains several 100 MWs.”

The temperature encountered at Nevis 2 geothermal well was 498 F (259.9C) with a well pressure of 280 psi.     ~~Adz:Right~~
