Three plead guilty at Opening of the September 2012 Criminal Assizes

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THREE men who appeared before His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas for arraignment at the opening of the September 2012 Criminal Assizes today (Sept 25.), pleaded guilty to the charges laid against them.

     

    The men, Kenneth Errol Cordwell and Anthony Hodge pleaded guilty to one count each of wounding with intent and unlawful wounding while another male plead guilty to indecent assault.

     

    Cordwell is said to have wounded Thiron Mulraine with intent to do grievous bodily harm on April 8, 2012 in Basseterre. He is also said to have unlawfully wounded said person on the same date at the same place.

     

    Hodge is said to have wounded Patrick Nicholls with intent to do grievous bodily harm on March 22, 2011 at Godwin Ghaut. He too is also said to have unlawfully wounded said person on the same date at the same place.

     

    The other male pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a female under the age of 16, on September 21, 2011 at Phillips' Village.

     

    The three men are expected to be sentenced sometime during the Assizes following the completion of their Social Inquiry Reports.

     

    A total of 32 cases were originally scheduled to be heard at the sitting of this Assizes, of which 17 were new cases and 15 were traversed from the May 2012 Criminal Assizes, while 5 cases were previously disposed of with the convicts awaiting sentencing.
