Fourteen new cases for September 2012 Criminal Assizes

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FOURTEEN new cases have been added to the list of matters that are expected to be heard at the September 2012 Criminal Assizes that began this morning (Sept. 25) at the Basseterre High Court.

     

    The cases are those of Rodelle Clarke; Steadroy Scott; Akeem Chumney; Rondel Hanley; Eugene Browne; Leroy Thomas and T'Sean Hendricks; Alex Claxton; Erastus Laville; Jahmal Heath; Kasper Rouse and Kenville Rouse, Jahmana Walters and Ali Percival, Clayton Laws and Jermaine Riley; Kevin Pierre; and two unnamed males.

     

    Clarke is charged with abduction for forcefully detaining a certain female on June 7, 2011 with carnal intent.

     

    Scott is charged with one count each of unlawful wounding and wounding with intent of Kareem Richards which is alleged to have been committed on December 21, 2011 in Basseterre.

     

    Chumney pleaded not guilty to assault with intent to rob Cindy James-Carey which is said to have been committed at Hermitage Village, Lower Cayon on November 4, 2011.

     

    Hanley is charged with building breaking and larceny for allegedly breaking into the Island Food Grocery Supermarket Warehouse at Upper Prickley Pear Alley on February 15, 2011.
    He is said to have made off with 12 cases of Nestle Cornflakes, 30 cases of Kraft macaroni and cheese, 15 cases of Carnation milk, 12 cases of Starkist tuna, 20 cases of Brunswick Sardine, 20 cases of Fruita can drinks, 11 cases of Helmans mayonnaise, six cases of Stone Ginger Wine, three cases of Beehive Brandy, four cases of Nido Milk Powder, three cases each of large and small Sunquicks, 18 cases of Libby's spaghetti and meatballs, two cases of Delmont sliced pineapples, 35 cases of Libby's vienna sausage, four cases of Hunts tomato paste, 12 cases of a certain juice, seven cases of trash bags, two cases of Redbull, 11 cases of Teddy's pampers, three cases of Milo, three cases of Napoleon Brandy, two cases of Complete Seasoning, two cases of Festival cookies, two cases of Quix dishwashing liquid, 20 bottles of Listerine mouthwash, 25 cases of Pringles, four cases of Bounty paper towel, two cases of Magnum, two cases of Sunmix, and four cases of Heineken beer all to the value of EC$33031.56.

     

    Browne is charged with one count each of robbery, unlawful wounding and wounding with intent of Jason Williams all allegedly committed on January 10, 2012 in Basseterre, while Claxton pleaded not guilty to shooting with intent allegedly committed on November 14, 2011.

     

    Thomas and Hendricks are both charged with one count each of wounding with intent and the unlawful wounding of Davion Jarvis which is said to have been committed on September 21, 2011 at Lodge Project.

     

    Laville would be standing trial for the murder of Wendell Wilkinson which was allegedly committed on July 8, 2011 in Basseterre, while Heath would be standing trial for the attempted murder and wounding with intent of Curtis James which is said to have been committed on December 10, 2011.

     

    The Rouses are charged with the unlawful wounding and wounding with intent of Gregory Mills allegedly committed on November 16, 2010 in Basseterre, while Pierre is charged with the unlawful wounding and wounding with intent Ian Morris on October 21, 2009 in Basseterre.

     

    Walters, Percival, Laws and Riley are all charged with two counts each of kidnapping on October 28, 2011. They allegedly kidnapped Larry Vaughn and Gilda Vaughn.

     

    The two unnamed men are each charged with one count of unlawful carnal knowledge committed on October 31, 2011 and July 23, 2011.

     

    All cases are scheduled to be heard during the September 2012 Criminal Assizes.
