BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IT is that time once again when modeling and fashion will come together as the Movado Model Agency prepares to host ‘Fashion in the Jungle’.

According to Manager of the agency, Jason Amory, this year’s event will take place on Sunday, November 25, at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

He said the theme was inspired by a fabric he saw and immediately the idea came to mind.

He said the event will be influenced by our African heritage and like last year, the models will be doing dance routines while onstage.

He explained that he would have a section of all white called ‘Zombie’; Karen Matthew will showcase an African line; a surprise African designer and the highlight for the night will be ‘Fashion in the Jungle’ and those pieces will be presented by Petal Newton.

“Definitely Caribelle Batik will be a part of the event. Their exotic prints and designs are representative of one of our best locally made lines; also designs by Brown Sugar will be showcased. They have both been supportive of our shows,” he said.

The models will be performing African dance routines while showcasing the designs.

The dances are once again choreographed by Amory created along with suggestions from the models.

And speaking of the models, he has a total of 23 seasoned and fresh faced models who have been rehearsing since the start of the year.

After his superb ‘A Night at the Opera/Cabaret’ last year, Amory received rave reviews from attendees for his well choreographed and tantalizing routines.
“Based on the feedback from the public - it was strong and positive - I will strive to take the level higher this year and have another great production,” he said.

“I want people to mark the date (Nov. 25) and know that Movado’s Fashion show is on its way. This is my passion. I enjoy putting on a production every year because I love fashion and modeling.

“I also love giving designers an opportunity to showcase their work as well as giving the models another outlet to showcase their talent,” he said.

The fashion event will be held as part of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s Tourism Month of Activities.
