~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO women were among the list of persons recently arrested and charged with offences in which they were believed to have been involved.
Old Manor Estate, Nevis resident Jasmine Joshua was on Thursday, September 4, 2008 arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and cultivation of cannabis.
Also, Desiree Matthew of Taylors Village was arrested and charged on Thursday, September 4 for carrying abroad an offensive weapon.
Larceny was the offence for which Andrew Lynch of Church Ground, Nevis was arrested and charged. The offence, according to police, was committed on August 30, 2008 and the arrest took place on September 3, 2008.
For the offences of driving when not covered by insurance and driving without a valid and unexpired driver’s licence, Raymon Persuad of Clay Ghaut, Nevis was arrested and charrged on September 4.
DRUGS FOUND
A man who was seen by police carrying a bundle of weed in the mountain area, managed to evade capture and his identity has yet to be made known.
According to a press release, the police, on Thursday last, while conducting a routine patrol in the Ogees area “saw an unknown male carrying something on his head wrapped in a large cloth. When the unknown man saw the police he dropped the bundle and ran”.
The bundle he left behind was searched by the police who discovered that the cloth contained “over 100 marijuana plants which ranged in height from six to seven feet and carried a street value of $10,000.00”.
The police informed that the plants were taken into custody and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
Meanwhile, police on Nevis have yet to discover who is responsible for marijuana plants that were found growing on a piece of land in the Cotton Ground area.
SKNVibes understands that on Thursday last, the police conducted an operation that resulted in them finding 99 marijuana plants which were taken into custody. The plants ranged in height from one to six feet.
No one was held accountable for the find.
