Huge cash giveaway for an ‘amazing’ Independence

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS part of the Marriott Royal Beach Casino’s ‘Independence Givaway’ celebration on Saturday, September 20, one lucky reveller is going to break the bank by walking out of the much party US$2 500 richer and not have to spend a single dime in the process.

Marketing Manager of the Royal Beach Casino Amin Suleman said the promotion is first and foremost about celebrating St. Kitts-Nevis’ 25 years of success.

“I look at it as we’re here as a business and we recognise what St. Kitts-Nevis has done. When you look at the sheer size of these islands compared to the world overall, it is really amazing what the Federation has achieved.

After handing out a number of prize packages in the weeks leading up to Independence, the Marriott Royal Beach Casino’s giveaway will climax at midnight on September 20 when WINN FM’s ‘The Rinse’ host, DJ Anthony D, pulls one name from the draw drum for a single cash prize giveaway of US$2 500.

Suleman said the promotion is unique because, unlike other casino promotions, its entry process does not require a person to gamble for a chance to win.

“All you have to do is be here. If you’re here, just swipe your Caribbean Jewel Advantage Club Card and you’ll get a ballot [to enter the drawing]. Put that ballot into the draw drum and you have the same chance to win as someone who is playing. It’s worth the drive down here…just come and enjoy the show if you want.”     ~~Adz:Right~~

He also explained that signing up for the Caribbean Jewel Advantage Club Card is entirely free and can be done on the night of the Independence Giveaway, as a long as a person brings a photo identification with them.

The Marketing Manager said aside from Independence celebrations, the event would also be a good chance for the local population to check out the establishment in an affair that is geared exclusively toward them.

“The impression may be that we are just a gambling house, but we really are much more than that,” he said, noting the very affordable bar, numerous flat screen televisions tracking the pulse of sports around the world and weekly live entertainment with local flair.
The Independence Giveaway is merely the start of the Marriott Royal Beach Casino’s goal to “make gambling fun” in 2009.

“Gambling can be taken one of two ways, it can be seen as entertainment or as the house is here to try and get your money. We look at it as the entertainment package and that is why we treat everybody like somebody special and will even be offering courses on how to play games like Blackjack and Texas hold ‘em poker in the new season.”

Based upon the success of the Independence promotion, the casino hopes to offer more events geared toward the local population “at least once a quarter”.

“For the people who have never been to this casino, this is a great opportunity to come check us out,” said Suleman, who told SKNVibes in an exclusive interview that the Independence Giveaway is going to be an excellent way to “allow the celebration to continue” throughout the weekend.
