BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MORE than 100 applications have already been processed as persons seek employment at the Ma Pau Inc., St. Kitts Experience, which is scheduled to open sometime during next month.

Ma Pau Inc., St. Kitts Experience is an entertainment facility which encompasses a theater, casino and a restaurant, all of which are expected to expose both locals and visitors to genuine Kittitian experiences.

A job fair organised by the establishment commenced this morning giving suitable individuals the opportunity to gain employment at the establishment.

SKNVibes visited the entertainment center this morning and met scores of potential employees who were completing and submitting applications forms.

This media house also spoke with Assistant to the Project Manager and daughter of the CEO of the company, Emerald Wallis, who explained that persons are being sought to fill quite a number of positions. While Wallis was unable at the time to indicate exactly how many persons the establishment is seeking to employ, she said, “We are seeking to employ persons for surveillance, cooks, supervisors, cleaners, actors and bartenders among other areas.”  ~~Adz:Right~~

She said in addition to the “walk-ins”, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the duration of the fair (today and tomorrow [Sept. 9]), interviews are scheduled for each 15-minute interval. These interviews, she explained, are for persons who submitted their applications beforehand.

Ma Pau Inc., St. Kitts Experience is sister to Ma Pau Inc., Trinidad and Ma Pau Inc., Barbados.  CEO and founder of Ma Pau Inc., John Wallis came to St. Kitts 10 years ago seeking to establish another leg of his company but, as his daughter explained, it was not ideal at that time.

She noted that this was a more fitting time as the company was able to acquire a building located in the heart of the tourist industry, Port Zante. “We will be catering to everyone, but tourists would be a target audience because of our location. Of course, it will be extended to locals as well,” Wallis said.

“The Entertainment Centre intends to work with all other tourism businesses and entities to encourage visitors to return as long-stay visitors to the island. Culture will be highlighted for all to share and the St. Kitts Experience will be shared for all,” she added.
