Police launch ‘Zero Tolerance Initiatives’ Federation-wide

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MEMBERS of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Delta Squad last night (Oct. 2) nabbed an illegal immigrant who was in possession of a fully-loaded handgun.

According to a police press release, during a random stop and search last night, members of the Delta Squad apprehended a man who illegally entered the country.

“The man ran from the Delta Squad but was quickly apprehended. In his possession was a fully-loaded Glock pistol. The man was arrested and transported to the Basseterre Police Station. His name and photograph will be released once he is officially charged,” the release reads.

It also states that the Force wishes to notify the general public that their cooperation is requested as a number of units, including the Delta Squad, would be conducting “Zero Tolerance Initiatives” on both islands of the Federation over a seven-day period.

The initiatives started yesterday and the release indicates that Police Commissioner Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn would like to thank the general public for their continued support and cooperation and is asking them “to report any suspicious activity this weekend by calling 911 or the nearest police station as we continue the fight to retake our streets”.
