Mother of four cops Kajola’s Employee of the Month Award

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THERE is a saying that “hard work and persistence do pay off” and Judith Simon of Upper Cayon is a living example of that quote, because, after 13 long years of dedication and stick-to-itiveness she was named Kajola Kristada’s August 2012 Employee of the Month (EOM).

She stayed on the Production Line performing her duties one day and heard through the grapevine that she had won the coveted title but, according to her, she was in disbelief.

However, a call summoning her to the office of the Human Resource Manager - Malvie James –was enough to convince her.

“Malvie called me and she told me that I won Employee of the Month. I was very very surprised when she told me that because I have been working her for 13 years and this is the first time that I won this award.”

Though still in shock, the 33-year-old mother of four said the fact that she won the award has boosted her confidence and it has given her the impetus to continue pushing herself to excel and perform well.

And her word of encouragement to those who have never been named EOM is, “Don’t be discouraged, don’t give up. Keep on trying and one day it will come to you just like it came to me.”

Simon said she has already broken the good news to her children and then have expressed that they are proud of her for her achievement.

Her fellow worker and “very good friend” Colleen Strawn shares with Simon in her achievement especially having observed the commendable effort that her friend exerts in the execution of her duties.

“I am elated and happy for her because after working so many years and after I have been here working so hard, she is finally getting recognised. It is wonderful!

Human Resource Manager Malvie James spoke glowingly of Simon, noting that although the first years of her stint at Kajola Kristada were somewhat rocky, she has improved by leaps and bounds so much so that “she is the most improved employee that we have”.

    Congratulations Judith!
