CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, October 8th, 2012 -- The October 27th 2012 Business League was just one of the many agenda items discussed at a recently held Nevis Netball Association [NNA] meeting.

Held at the Cicely Grell-Hull Dora Stevens Netball Complex, the general meeting attracted participation from members of some of the island’s netball teams and clubs who seemed enthusiastic about the association’s upcoming events.

Among the other events planned by the association are a local league on February 2nd 2013, the Leeward Islands Club Championship from March 29th to April 1st 2013, a parish league in June 2013 and another business league in October 2013.

Meantime, NNA President Ms. Jeanette Grell-Hull M.H., who chaired the meeting, said she was pleased with the recent activities hosted by her organisation. The recent activities which included beach netball and a parish league, according to Ms. Grell-Hull, were held to revive the much-loved sport of Netball.

“We have been doing well but there is still much more that can be done,” she said, adding that she will seek to reintroduce netball clinics for children.

Since the Sept. 27th NNA general meeting, President Grell-Hull has met with other sports enthusiasts at a general meeting [which was] hosted by the Nevis Island Administration’s Department of Sports.

One of the major concerns outlined by President Grell-Hull, at the Oct. 3rd meeting, was the presence of a basketball court in the Cicely Grell-Hull Dora Stevens Netball Complex. According to her, the court needs to be removed and the netball courts resurfaced to facilitate up-scale netball championships.
