    Duo charged in Fritz murder

~~Adz:Left~~ St. Thomas, USVI – Investigators in the Geffrard Fritz murder have made significant headway, arresting two individuals over the weekend for the May, 2008 shooting.

According to the VI Daily News, 37-year-old Charmain Clark of Anna’s Retreat and 24-year-old have been charged with several offences stemming from the Smith Bay shooting incident.

Austrie, who was identified as fleeing the scene with ‘gun in hand’ at the time of the incident, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of an unlicensed firearm. Clark, whose photo was also picked out from group, was identified as the get-away driver. She was charged with three counts of aiding and abetting in relation to the crime.

V.I. Superior Court Judge Leon Kendall on Monday refused the pair’s request for release from custody and the $100,000 bail amounts were maintained. Austrie will also be facing a separate gun possession charge after he was found with an unlicensed handgun when police tried to apprehend him on September 7.

Both Austrie and Clark will go before the court for arraignment on September 18.
