ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, October 10th, 2012   –  The Ministry of Communications and Works is offering vendors of Crafts Alive and those that were located opposite of the cruise ship pier an opportunity to market their products more effectively with a training specifically tailored for them.

The training according to City Manager, Mrs. Janis Braithwaite-Edwards was specifically designed for these vendors because they will need to understand the new dynamic operations of the Revitalised Crafts Alive, it will provide an opportunity for marketing using innovative ways to display their products and it will enable them to build capacity for the sustainability of their businesses.

The training is designed to address theoretical as well as practical applications and will be offered on October 15, 16, and 17 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Department of Information and Public Relation’s conference room located on the fifth floor of the RJT Edifice next to the Labour Department. Vendors can register by calling the Ministry of Communications and Works at 468-0629.

“Persons would need to call the ministry to sign up for their day of choice,” Mrs. Braithwaite-Edwards explained. “There is a maximum of 20 participants per session and approval will be granted on a first come first served basis.”

In speaking on the importance of such training Ms. Braithwaite-Edwards said “As we begin a new tourism season and we look at the revitalisation of Crafts Alive and the fact that we are now merging two entities together, it is important to move forward in an organised manner.

This process is designed to enhance the output of Crafts Alive based on the mandate of the Government which is to enhance the appearance and activities that reflect the historic and economic importance of the Territory.

The Revitalised Crafts Alive Market is part of Government’s plan to improve the overall visitor experience to the Territory and will boast improved aesthetics, connectivity to historical Road Town as well as enhanced tourist activities that will increase the marketability of the city of Road Town.
