St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service
Basseterre, St. Kitts (April 6th, 2005): The Community Nursing Service is in the forefront of a full month of activities in observation of World Health and Vaccination Day being commemorated on April 7th, 2005.
The theme of the month-long observance is Healthy Mothers and Healthy Children and the slogan is Every Mother and Child Counts.

The objective is to provide individuals and communities with the information they need to avoid harmful practices and to promote appropriate basic care. This approach would help to prevent pregnancy -related complications and childhood diseases, a health official said.

Community nurses are visiting the industrial park and other production factories to meet with employees to share the information.

ZIZ Radio and Television are also featuring various related aspects of the topic during the month on its various health programmes and via panel discussion.
