BASSETERRE St. Kitts, October 15th 2012 - The Management and staff of the St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) have acknowledged the fact that there are interruptions in the supply of electricity to some areas around the island due to effects from the passage of Tropical Storm Rafael. This is mainly due to lightning strikes and heavy rainfall which resulted in broken lines and fallen poles on the Transmission and Distribution infrastructure.
However, it is important to note that it is unsafe for our workmen to carry out work under these circumstances, but can assure you that as soon as we are able to do so the necessary remedial work will be carried out.
SKELEC would like to take this opportunity to inform our valued customers that the Administration Building (Main Office) on Central Street will be closed at 12p.m. today, Monday, October 15, 2012.
SKELEC sincerely apologies for the inconvenience caused in the closure of our offices and the interruption in supply of electricity
