    Gasoline returns to pumps

BASSETERRE, St.  Kitts – A brief paucity of gasoline at the pumps that caused widespread, overnight consumer panic, ended early this afternoon when truck(s) transporting the commodity finally reached the service station(s).

Rumours reaching SKNVibes were that at certain service stations, consumers who were wishing to fill up their gas tanks since yesterday evening were unable to do so as makeshift barricades constructed from chairs and traffic cones were placed on the lanes next to the gas pumps.

Investigations were made by this media house and it was found that most service stations ran out of gasoline at various points over the course of yesterday and some period of this morning.

One individual told SKNVibes that just this morning, he was on his way to purchase gasoline as his vehicle’s fuel gage was nearing the empty mark.

He explained that he was a bit surprised to see his usual gas station blocked, especially since he “really needed gas”.

Information received by SKNVibes is that the lack of fuel at the pumps was due to “delivery problems” on the suppliers’ end and when the West Side Service Station was contacted this afternoon, this media house was told that the station received gasolene sometime after noon today after being without gasoline for "about an hour".

Another customer told this media house that sometime during yesterday morning, he passed by a TEXACO (Gillard’s Enterprises) to fill his vehicle with fuel at which point he was informed that there was no gasoline at the pumps.

A call placed to Gillard’s Enterprises revealed they received gasoline yesterday but they did not indicate if the outlet was out of gasoline prior to being resupplied.

Attempts to contact officials at Sol EC Ltd. to ascertain the reason behind the delivery problems proved futile.  ~~Adz:Right~~
