Dance Xplosion eliminations this Saturday

    Basseterre, St. Kitts,October 17th, 2012 – The Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) will host its Elimination Round for its first ever young adult dance competition, “Dance Xplosion – This Is Your Chance2Dance!” this Saturday October 20th, 2012 at the Basseterre High School Auditorium, Victoria Road commencing at 4 p.m.

     

    Dance Xplosion’s dance genres are: (1) SOCA/CALYPSO, (2) DANCEHALL/REGGAE, (3) AFRO-CARIBBEAN/AFRICAN and (4) FREESTYLE (Any dance style other than genres 1-3). Dancers from both St. Kitts and Nevis will seek to win the judges’ approval and move on to the Finals when they present two (2) pieces: one (1) piece from any of the genres 1-3 above and one (1) piece from the FREESTYLE category (i.e. Genre 4 above).

     

    “With over $5,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, we know that all the dancers will be bringing their best moves,” said RCL President Lester Hanley. “So I encourage the general public to come out and support these young adults as they express themselves positively through dance.”

     

    Admission for the Elimination Round is only EC $5, for all ages.

     

    Dance Xplosion – This Is Your Chance2Dance! Finals will be held on Saturday November 10th, 2012 at Carnival Village at 8 p.m. More information available at www.rotaryliamuiga.org.

     

    RCL extends appreciation to our corporate partners in service, Warner’s One Stop, SCASPA, Caribbean Credit Card Corporation (4 C’s), Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, Sweet Lime Restaurant, LIME, Vallies Tent Rentals and the Department of Culture.

     

    Proceeds from this event will go towards Rotary Club of Liamuiga youth and community development projects.
