Sean Paul is said to be among five of the hottest dancehall stars nominated in the UK's MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards for 'Best Reggae Act’.

He had previously won two MOBO Awards for 'Best Reggae Act' - 2006 and 2009.

In the ‘Best Caribbean Performance’ category at the Soul Train Awards, Sean Paul will be competing against Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Matisyahu and Cover Drive. That award will take place on Thursday, November 8 in Las Vegas.

The Soul Train Awards recognises top performers in urban and contemporary music and oganisers instituted a reggae category a few years ago, but later expanded it to Best Caribbean Performance.

This is Sean Paul's third Soul Train nomination, having won the ‘Best Reggae Artiste’ award in 2009.

MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) will see Sean Paul among 18 top acts in the world vying for the ‘Best World Stage’ award, including artistes such as Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg and Justin Bieber.

The MTV EMAs will be held at Frankfurt's Festhalle on Sunday, November 11.

This is the artiste's third nomination and in 2003 was awarded the prize for Best New Act at this awards show.

According to Sean Paul, he is pleased to be recognised by officials in the music industry for his work, as he continues to work hard to spread his brand of Jamaican music to the world.
