BASSETERRE St. Kitts, October 29th 2012 - Motivated by her mantra that “the opinion of others does not determine one’s reality”, 12 year old Shania Shelja Burnham has already firmly resolved to relentlessly pursue her goals despite any obstacles and setbacks she may encounter along the way. BornDecember 4th 1999, this ambitious 2V1 student aspires to be the first female surgeon in our Federation- a career path which she believes will positively impact the lives of all especially the residents of Old Road, the community in which she is being raised.
In pursuit of this goal, Shania has demonstrated a keen academic interest in Science. She also intends to hone additional communication skills by becoming proficient in French and Spanish, two of her favorite subjects.Effective communication skills, she has observed, are key to success in life, work, and relationships.
Shaniais an active member of the Verchild’s High School Cheerleading Squad and has graced the pages of history as Tyrell Williams Primary School’s first Student Council President.On a community level, this Old Road resident is involved in the Future Farmers’ Club and the Anglican Young People’s Association (A.Y.P.A). During her leisure time, she enjoys singing and dancing; hobbies which further enrich herartistic and emotionaldevelopment.
Shania’s involvement in extra-curricula activities complements her resolve to impact the lives of others, promote the rich, varied components of performing arts and become a productive citizen of our nation.
