                          BVIEC to Host Regional Training and HR Professional Conference


    ~~Adz:Left~~Roadtown Tortola- The British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) in collaboration with the Caribbean Electrical Utilities Association (CARILEC) will host a two-day conference of human resource professionals in the Territory from September 18-19.

     

    The conference will be held at the Long Bay Beach Resort’s Conference Room under the theme “Mitigating the Impact of’ ‘The Talent War’: Succession Planning and Ethical HR,” where more than 40 members of CARILEC are expected to be in attendance.

     

    Participants at the two-day conference will take part in discussions on ways to measure the effectiveness of training; skills development; criteria and considerations for selecting the best insurance package for your company; transitioning from engineer to human resources manager and managing “Generation X” among other topics.

     

    The opening ceremony, which will be held on Thursday, September 18, will feature remarks by General Manager of the BVIEC, Mr. Leroy Abraham, Chairman of the Board, Mrs. Margaret Penn, Executive Director of CARILEC, Mr. Nigel Hosein and Business Development Coordinator, Ms. Alison Pascal.

     

    CARILEC is a regional association which advances the capability of the Caribbean electric utility industry, promotes better understanding of the industry and supports its contribution to the quality of life of the Caribbean people.
