PM Douglas applauds The Cable on 25th Anniversary

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – PRIME MINISTER of St. Kitts-Nevis Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, in an address given at the Royal St. Kitts Marriott Resort on September 15, acknowledged the invaluable contributions made by The Cable during its 25 years of existence.
“There is so much for us to celebrate in the 25th Anniversary of The Cable. There has been a lot of pride, development and progress brought by The Cable; the very same pride, development and progress that are symbolised by our [nation’s] Independence.”
Dr. Douglas further stated that when one looks at the development in the country including technological advancement, The Cable is bound to benefit from it. He observed The Cable’s contribution to the development of the South-east Peninsula and focussed on the tremendous potential that would be demanded due to growth in the tourism sector. ~~Adz:Right~~
The Prime Minister assured The Cable that the government supports its efforts just as it has “consistently provided directives and directions” to the company. He informed that the Hon. Nigel Carty, who is trained in understanding the changes and advancement in technology, informs Cabinet on the best choice to make in relation to telecommunication services so that “the development does not leave The Cable behind”.
Douglas declared that “the next 25 years, I believe, for the Cable, would not only be challenging but would also be 25 successful ones”.
PM Douglas underscored his pleasure in the quality of service offered and thanked the staff of The Cable for keeping the country modern with the various telecommunication packages provided to the people of the Federation.
